I called to wish a friend of mine a Happy Birthday today, and in conversation, I reminded her of a loud wish she made in my presence a few years ago.. Every single thing she mentioned has come to pass. “Wow!” She exclaimed…

She had completely forgotten.

After the call, it occurred to me how important it is to affirm positively over our own lives.

Sometimes we get so overwhelmed with challenges and we do not realize how the words we speak make or break us.

Proverbs 18:21

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Especially now in this pandemic season, where we, as a collective have experienced the most trying times. Instead of wondering and wandering, may we use the opportunity to build a closer relationship with Jesus, whose we are, because we are absolutely nothing without His promptings and direction.

I have chosen to speak blessings over my children every single day with intent, because I realize how easily we get frustrated as parents and tend to speak negatively to our children. It’s not just the impact of our words but this attitude rubs off them and they end up talking smack too. It took me a while to realize how easily I bled unto people who didn’t cut me, especially my children.

We live in a world where damaged people unknowingly turn to damaged people for help, and the cycle continues.

Psalm 147:3 says, He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.

This passage, gives me the assurance that, God is more than able to heal every hurt or wound we may have sustained from life’s battles. It’s okay to cry sometimes, but quickly shake it off and instead of muttering to yourself, consciously affirm with confidence, the opposite of the unhappy situation.

We have to learn to be resilient and also malleable, knowing that, we can turn every bad situation into a blessing.

Today, Laugh out loud and wish out loud!!!
